Antiquing Trip on Monroe Street

Sarah and I had fun antiquing today! We checked out Tossed and Found and the Vintage Rabbit on Monroe Street. We also saw a few other places that we want to go check out later, there's a bunch of new places popping up on Monroe that look like they are full of cool stuff. I ended up getting some vintage jewelry, old stamps, and a pint sized blue canning jar. We both got old Folger's tins for a future project and Sarah found an awesome old ladder that she has fun plans for! It was also fun looking at things that reminded us of our Grandma, like the old print above that says "True Friendship: A friend is one who knows all about you, and love you just the same." We also saw a ton of toys that we used to have as kids, does that mean we're getting old??

a little trip to Vancouver

Matty and I took a little impromptu trip to Vancouver this past weekend! It was great to get away for 24 hours! We booked our trip through hotwire...so we weren't sure where we would stay. We ended up at a Best Western in the heart of downtown. Nothing fancy, but close to everything! Here are a few photos of our trip.

Vancouver is a very different place than Seattle. We love how many skyscrapers there are, and especially that the snow capped mountains peek out all around the city. Apparently the closest ski resort is only 20 minutes away! Something to think about for future visits.

We loved wandering the streets at night amidst all the pretty Christmas lights.

The next morning we started our day with some delicious coffee (of course).

We actually stopped to have coffee a few times during our day in Vancouver. I guess you could say this is one of our hobbies...and our favorite way to go on a date.A huge highlight of the visit was spending the morning at the Granville Island market! We had a blast exploring the place, and its an understatement to say that I LOVED taking photos there.


We bought a ton of loose leaf tea at the market. I have loved tea for a long time, and it was fun to picks some fun flavors and purchase our tea in little mason jars.

At another store in the market, I found a stationery store with tons of washi tape and ribbon! I had fun photographing all the pretty things in the store, and of course I walked out with a few tapes of my own. :)
After exploring the Granville Market we headed into downtown again and had some delicous sushi for lunch! We were both pretty cold by then, and it was nice to sip some hot tea while we waited for our food.

We loved driving around Stanley Park! As soon as Matt saw those snow peaked mountains, he was itching to jump on the road North and head to Whistler!

Last, but not least, I will share a lovely store that I found in Vancouver, full of washi tapes and stationery supplies! I asked the girl if I could photograph the washi collection and she said "Of course!"...as long as I give them credit!
Even Matt agreed that this was a cool store. Here is their website: The Hach. And here is a photo of all my lovely "loot" that I brought home with me. Happy Birthday to myself. :)
I am most excited about that lovely alphabet stamp set and the 2013 Monthly Planner. That will be my new calender for the new year! The pens are not only cute, but they write beautifully! The little kraft package is full of graph paper sticky notes...what could be cuter??

So we start with travel and end with crafty goodness. That's pretty much the story of my life. Thanks for looking. :)

Dreaming of Paris

I've been dreaming of Paris... When we got back from our Europe trip in the fall I printed a few pictures to slip into my Project Life Album and called it good. The last few weeks, I've been dreaming of going back to Paris. Unfortunately, that won't be happening any time soon, but I started looking back through our pics and decided it was about time to do something with them. So I started by ordering a giant canvas print (16x48 inches) for above our bed, and I think its high time I started working on putting a photo book together. Jenn made one already and it is amazing!

December in Photos

December is crazy. This month is completely overwhelming, yet lovely and wonderful. Its busy and beautiful. Full of lights and colors and parties and birthdays. December is wet and cold and dark, yet full of celebration and holiday cheer.

Here are just a few photos I've taken this month.

I made delicious fudge with Ellen. I ate way too much.

We visited the botanical gardens in Bellevue, which is completely decked out with Christmas lights.

I ran the jingle bell 5k downtown and took a instagram photo of that fantastic tree in downtown Seattle.

I turned 27.

Matty bought me pretty boots with fluffy socks. The short ones because my calves are too big.

My best friend Renae drove over here to visit me for just one night. :)

I am loving my Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

I have been to several Christmas parties and ate several more Christmas cookies.

Matty has been skiing twice this season so far. The powder is amazing! I have yet to go, but hopefully soon!

I dressed up for a party at work and took silly photos in the bathroom...just because I liked their pretty mirror. :)

 

We only have a little over one week left in December before 2013!! What has everyone been up to? Anything festive and exciting? Or just relaxing and quiet? Either way, let me know!
