Happy New Year!!
This post is almost a complete copycat post from Elise Cripe. I was so in love with her "Best of 2012" that I decided to go through my entire Picassa album from 2012 and make a similar page as her for my Project Life album.
Project Life layouts are wonderful, but they are notoriously difficult to photograph! I actually kept this spread pretty simple, and I added some labels to my photos before I printed them.
Here is the best of 2012!
Best Triathlete: Matt at his Half Ironman at Lake Stevens in August
Best Double Date: Heather, Phil, Matt & I had an awesome evening at Brave Horse Tavern. The drinks were fun, bagels delicious, and we learned to play shuffleboard.
Best Outdoor Dinner: This night at Renae's house in August was AWESOME! Joe cooked some delicious brisket and we drank yummy sangria. The best part was hanging out with these lovely people all evening.Best Party: Josh's 30th birthday party in February. Epic donut cake!
Best Beer: Drank with my sister Joy in Germany!! This was a supremely awesome day.
Best Accomplishment: Learned how to swim in six weeks for a sprint triathlon in July. Best $200 ever spent was on swimming lessons! So glad I can now put my head under the water.
Best New Niece on the Way: I'm so excited that my little brother is having a girl in April! She will be my very first niece. You can see more of their photos here.
Best Night Ever: In Paris of course! We had an amazing dinner and afterwards as we walked back to the metro, we noticed that the lights were sparkling! I just love the Eiffel Tower. This night happened to be our sixth wedding anniversary on September 2nd.
Best Cat Moment: This was the night before Flash's surgery in October. Poor little guy lost an eye to glaucoma. I was so glad I caught this photo of him with my sister-in-law Hannah. We all love him so much!!
Best Marathon Completed: This may be the only marathon I ever do, but I can also say its the best! I ran the San Juan Marathon in June. My time was 4:13.
I took this photo to make fun of other people that do this pose after races. Then I ended up really liking it!
Best Wine: Toasted Goat Cabernet Sauvignon. This was a new discovery this year...we love it!
Best New Friend: This is my awesome friend Jennifer...we ran the Color run together. We walk around Green Lake together all the time. I often think of her as the "Asian verson of myself." Hopefully this isn't offensive. :)
Best New Toy: This would be Heather & Phil's new boat! We had the chance to get out on the boat many days this summer, including an awesome weekend in Chelan.
Best Baby Born: This would be Pippa of course! I realize that many lovely babies have been born in 2012...this is not meant to leave anyone out. I have just loved spending so much time with Pippa this year and being her "Auntie." She is such a delight.
Best View Ever: The view from the Aiguille du Midi in France! We took a gondola there this summer, and the view was just fantastic. It was like climbing Mount Rainier...only it takes an hour and no effort at all!
While talking to Matt recently, we were discussing that 2012 was truly a very difficult year for us. For many reasons. I am glad that I took the time to look back through my photos from the year. It makes me realize that I truly had an awesome year afterall. I am now so excited for 2013!
