My February Project: Complete! (kinda)

So you might remember seeing this blog post about my February Project: to give the office/craft room/clothes room a makeover. I had so many grand ideas for this little room... But it turned into something different entirely.

It is now the home of our tv, and my grandma's old love seat that was sitting in the garage. It turned into Nate's fireman paraphernalia man room. With, of course, a woman's touch. It still needs some work, like some photos on the sad walls and some new pillows, but I'm really liking the direction its heading! We no longer will be sitting on the couch watching movies on our laptops because its cold downstairs where the TV used to live! (we're lame, I know)

This of course, means that my craft room moved downstairs. Which is awesome because there is so much SPACE down there! Thats a blog post for another day...

So far February has been pretty crazy! I haven't gotten as far on projects and creative endeavors as I would have liked, but I have high hopes for March! I am looking forward to (hopefully) warmer weather so we can get outside as well!

February Favorites

This month has been a whirlwind! An absolute rollercoaster... today, I thought I'd share some of my favorites from this month.  I finally got a new phone and have joined the iPhone club! The camera is pretty amazing for a phone camera and I've been having way too much fun with all the camera apps! I have almost forgotten about my "real" camera. 

1. First visit to West Elm (picture above). There were tons of inspirational ideas there. They also had the coolest plant wall I've ever seen. 

2. Coffee date at Atticus with my mom and Joe.

3. Loving my huge craft area.

4. Figuring out how to make awesome guacamole.

5. Loving doodling in a new notebook. 

6. Lunch at Portage Bay and meeting my new future sister-in-law.

7. More snow

8. Our new king size duvet with down comfortor - so warm and no more fighting over the blankets, I don't know why we didn't try this sooner! ...and of coarse Malcolm, he's been my buddy while Joe has been gone.

9. Finding old favorites while packing and getting excited to decorate our new place.

Photo Wall

On Saturday we celebrated the birthday of my favorite one-year-old! Her mom put on a fabulous pink & gold bash. Because I have taken so many photos of Pippa over the past year, I thought it would be a fun project to make a little photo wall for her party. Here is how I made it!

Supplies:

-Pink & white paint

-Foam Brush

-Scrap cardboard

-Photos printed and cut at 4x4 inches (I used 25)

-Fancy washi tape

I mixed my Pink and white paint together to make a nice light pink hue. I didn't mix it all the way so that it would be somewhat two-toned.

I brushed a small amount onto the edges of each photo and set them to dry on the scrap cardboard. Acrylic paint dries pretty quickly!

Arrange them as you would like onto the wall and secure with pretty pink washi tapes! If I were to do this over again, I would probably use double sided tape or scotch tape below the washi tape. Washi is pretty, but it doesn't seem to stick very well. A few of them floated to the floor during the party. :)

Still, I think this turned out pretty cute! Even little Pippa liked it...she was on her tippy toes trying to see the photos!

No. 8 The Little Things

This week Nate and I drove over to Seattle for one night. He recently found out he might have to go completely gluten free :( so I suprised him with a GF cupcake stop at Cake Envy! It was nice to sit down and have a few minutes together in the middle of our quick little trip! Here's to our adventures in a gluten free lifestyle!
