This weekend we held an awesome wedding shower for Sarah. She eloped last summer, but is having a “real” wedding this July, and it was fun to have a shower for her. Renae and her sister Rachel did most of the work, and I tried to take some photos to capture their creative genius. Hope you enjoy and are inspired!
The décor was beautiful and simple. I loved the chalkboard elements and the baker’s twine. Rachel purchased some succulents and potted them in tiny jars, using berry cartons as a final detail. They gave these out as wedding favors, but they were also the perfect decoration.
We made two delicious beverages, strawberry basil lemonade and blueberry mint water. Both were easy to make and complimented each other perfectly. I loved Rachel’s idea to store them in enormous glass jars.
Of course the food is a huge part of any bridal shower, and I have to say that this food was a hit. Rachel made three different types of popcorn, a couple of the recipes she found on Pinterest. You can find the Bacon recipe HERE and the garlic thyme recipe HERE. She also made some adorable wedding cake-shaped short bread cookies...yum!
Rachel made her own dessert stands by gluing vases + thrifted plates together. I love that each one was unique and perfectly displayed the yummy food at the shower.
Renae was in charge of the baking and I have to say that she did an awesome job! The cake and cake pops were delicious! We are going to share the recipes on the blog tomorrow.
A proper bridal shower wouldn’t be complete without a photo booth! Each guest got the chance to dress up in silly outfits and pose for the camera. Renae used THIS IPhone app to take the photos!
Each guest filled out a small survey with fun memories and silly advice for Sarah and placed them in this cute birdcage. After the shower, Renae plans to print each photo strip and match it with the survey from each guest. I think this is an awesome way to do a guest book.
Thanks for checking out the details of this wedding shower. And Congratulations to you, Sarah!
