I hesitated while looking for a perfect 'little things' photo to post... But really, the little things are meant to be a way to focus on just that. The things that aren't always huge in life, but just as important. This guy is pretty stinking important. He's goofy enough to dress up in a bonnet and take silly pictures. Now that deserves a blog post, right?
This is my last week in the second trimester! So exciting!
Baby girl is moving like crazy. All the time! Fortunately in the last couple of weeks she is flipping over and kicking me in the tummy and avoiding the less comfortable bladder kicks. I won't go on and on about the multiple discomforts of pregnancy, but I must say that the baby kicks make it worth it! They are getting stronger and more deliberate.
I am loving listening to baby girl with my stethascope at night time. Her heart beat is so fast and strong and I love it. Matt thinks I am a little crazy. :)
I am starting to feel huge!! At my last apppoinment I discovered that I do not have gestational diabetes (yay!) but that I am measuring ahead of schedule, at 30 weeks. My Doc says that the amount of food I eat in this last trimester directly affects the size of the baby. She recommended lowering my carbs and going on the Paleo diet. (Oh joy!) I have already given up on mac & cheese long ago, but I still tend to eat much more cereals & breads than I did before pregnancy. This week I have been digging more into the veggie box and eating sauteed spinach with eggs as well as cut up fresh cucumber. I'm trying!
Baby girl is due in September, so really I have less than three months to go. I can't say that I'm enjoying every minute, but I am trying to be positive and appreciate these last weeks of time before baby comes. Pretty much everything will change! I'm excited for what is ahead.
It has been raining a ton here in Seattle and in Spokane as well. We've even had some thunder and lighting over here which is fairly unusual for the "wetside". And since we're trying to "embrace" our rainy days around here, we decided we would use that as our prompt for this week's Photo Friday! (Although for you Monday-Friday folks, I hear the weather is supposed to be fantastic this weekend! I'm only majorly jealous...)
My mint plant is loving this rainy weather apparently because it is growing like crazy! And I finally had a "light bulb moment" and moved my shell chairs under the covered part of the porch so now I can sit outside in the evenings and enjoy some fresh air without getting soaked! My picture this week is of a rainy window, very simple, but I love the contrast!

I took this photo on our long weekend in Coeur d' Alene. I am actually loving this last rainy week! Its been such a nice May and June (at least for Seattle) and I've always been a fan of big rain storms. The rain in Seattle normally drives me crazy because it seems to slowly from the sky for DAYS. A nice healthy downpour is a treat, especially when its warm out! I love that the rain makes everything green and the flowers extra bright.

I had to go back and find an old 'rain' picture, you might have seen it on this post. It poured buckets last week, and as soon as I remembered to charge my camera battery, the rain stopped. Silly rain. I do love how everything turns so green, and how peaceful it is! And of course, how awesome my garden looks after a week of rain!

Today I would like to highlight some of my favorite blogs that I read often. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but I’ve been thinking for a while that I’d like to share some of my favorites here on the blog. I love finding new blogs, and learning what others read is a great way to discover new ones!
Bella Pop Photography:
Truth be told, I haven’t taken any of her classes, but I fell in love with this blog because of her adorable camper that she is remodeling! She doesn’t post often, but her content is adorable and photos are awesome (of course.) I learned recently that she will be hosting a FREE photography class in August! I’ve already signed up for that. It will be the perfect time to get some last minute tips before my baby arrives in September.
Chalk White Arrow:
I love reading this girl’s blog! Her apartment is super cute, and she has some great tips for “dwelling small.” For some reason, I also love reading about her Saturday brunches! Her photography is unique and awesome, and I especially love that she takes pictures of real, daily life.
Tabitha Emma:
This cute gal lives in Australia, and I must admit that I follow her blog because she’s pregnant. Silly, yes? But true. I do like her style and it’s awesome that we are just two weeks apart. She is having a baby boy, but I still love her baby products that she pins on pinterest or posts to her blog.
Vanilla & Lace:
I followed this girl before she was pregnant, but now she is, so that’s a bonus! I like the simplicity of her blog, and also that she lives in Portland! Close enough to Seattle to be relevant when she shares local info.
Today’s Letters:
LOVE THIS BLOG. It is so simple and beautiful. I love the photos of their big house that they are renovating and all the posts about green living. Mostly I love the letters that she writes about once a week, as well as her posts about gratefulness. I have been inspired many times to write a blog post in her style, and I definitely plan to one day.
Wrapped up in Rainbows:
I followed this blog relatively recently and so far I really love it! She lives in England and I love her craft ideas as well as the posts about her small home. I am always inspired by people who live in tiny apartments because that’s the way we currently live as well.

Okay, I thought I would mention this blog even though it’s already pretty obvious that Elise is a favorite! I’ve followed her blog for the past several years and pretty much love everything about it. It’s even better that she just had a baby girl! Her craft/design style is much different than mine, but I love her photographs and her emphasis on documenting daily life.
