This year after taking the Big Picture Class "I Choose" on-line, I've been setting monthly goals to try to accomplish. Some months have been better than others, some more ambitious, some set half way through... but overall, the takeaway has been positive. I feel more focused and productive in my personal life than I ever have since I started working full time.
As far as documentation goes I have been keeping it pretty simple. At the beginning of the year, I made a little card for each month using a Project Life grid card, some washi tape and a mini-calendar page. I write the goals down for each month and just slip it into my Project Life book as I go along.
Sometimes I set fairly broad goals, other times more specific. I try to think about the month ahead, how busy I will be, what is already on the calendar and then pick things that I am excited to work on but that are also attainable. I've been trying to set five goals for each month, one from each of the categories listed in the class and that seems to be working pretty well to keep things balanced out.
My goals for July are pretty specific: Go to the gym once a week (at least). Keep the floor clean. Add things to the sidebar on Leona Lane. Make something inspired by a magazine. Restart chapter-a-day.
Anyone else have any goals for July? Any tips for keeping yourself motivated?
