Rooftop Baby Shower

I am blown away by the shower that my work friends threw for me last Friday night. I am seriously blessed with awesome people in my life. My co-worker and her awesome daughter put this party on for me. They have experience in the party and catering industry, and they did an amazing job.

Even without fancy party decorations, the ambiance and view was amazing! We were overlooking Lake Union, and in the late evening we got to watch the sun go down over the Space Needle. Talk about epic!

The food table was just beauitful and FULL of delicious home made appetizers! One of my favorite decorations were these awesome tissue paper flowers! I love that they used lemons in the base of the flower bouquets. This added so much to the beautifully bright color scheme.

 

I love that the girls used these adorable spherical ice cubes to keep those drinks cold. The bottles are awesome, and I love that they used chalkboard stickers to label each type of drink. Orange Fizz and Pink Lemonade...yum!

Here's another look at the decor that surrounded our seating area. I love these awesome paper lanterns! If you look closely you can see those pink spirals coming out of the lawn. They look like festive pink flowers, and they were added just for the baby shower. My friends really think about all the details!

I took some of the lanterns and the paper flowers home with me and I am told that I need to do something creative with them for baby girl's room! The pressure is on!

Dessert did not disappoint! You cannot go wrong with cupcakes, especially coconut cupcakes embellished with fresh fruit and topped with a neon yellow flower. :)

Here am I am opening gifts! I have a bunch of pink ribbons around my neck because we played a game where everyone cut a ribbon to guess how wide I am. I was surprised that most people over-estimated. Still trying to figure out if that's a good thing. :) I loved all the gifts that I recieved. My friends are seriously so, so generous. (Can you spot those ruffled bloomers pictured above? So cute!)

I will follow up with a photo of all of us girls...sunset and flare and all. This was a lovely evening and I am so heart-warmed and thankful for all of their hard work and creativity. 

Project Life : Playing Catch Up

Summer is rushing by! August and September are some of my favorite months though, so summer is not over yet!! With all the lovely weather and fun things going on, we've all gotten behind on our Project Life (just a bit...) I had one day off this weekend, so Jenn and I planned a little Project Life catch-up session. Nice and low key - just what I needed! 

I tend to work on multiple weeks at once when I'm behind. But I got one week completely finished yesterday, it just happens to be last week! I had so much going on last week that I decided to leave Sarah's wedding out of the weekly spread for now and make an insert (or two) dedicated to just that later!! 

In addition to the wedding, I got to stay with my parents for the extended weekend, have a girls night out, we went out to Leona for the rehearsal dinner, I got to see my Poppa, and of course at the end of the weekend, we moved. Sad day, but so incredibly thankful for my wonderful family and friends who were willing to help us out!!

I didn't try too many new techniques on this week, but it was super fun getting to work with my new Studio Calico Project Life kit! I love it!! A lot of good summery colors and the "Let's Do This" card was just perfect for moving day. 

Still loving my usual stand-bys: plain grid cards, date stamps, staz on ink, lots of letter stickers, label stickers, washi tape, and the seafoam project life kit. 

Probably the most unusual things on the spread are the cup from Molly Moon's that I cut up and the mini pictures that I added in - trying to get the most out of my photo paper!

Sarah's Wedding: Details

Today I have a few more wedding photos to share. Sarah's wedding took place at a beauitful venue in Greenbluff, Washington. It was perfectly country! I just love all the projects and details that Sarah used to personalize her wedding.

I want to start by sharing the beautiful cakes! Sarah made the small cakes, and Renae and I decorated them. The large cake was done by a professional, but Renae and I also added the flowers. We were considering going into cake-decorating by the end of the evening. :)

Isn't the chevron cake awesome? I just love it. I also love the "messy frosting" look that Renae is so good at. She is truly a talented gal. :)

Next, I have some photos of the reception table. Instead of a guest book, Sarah displayed an illustrated tree for people to leave their fingerprints and sign their names. Apparently this is a huge wedding trend right now, but this is the first I have seen it. I think its a fabulous idea!

Here are a couple more detail shots from the reception area. I love that Sarah did her own flowers and loved even more that they decided to display a few in these personalized mugs. It's perfect since Sarah and Nathan love coffee!!

You can't really blog about a wedding and not include at least one photo of the bride and groom, so here it is! Its an over the head photo of them feeding each other cake. I'm glad they did a little bit of cake smashing in the face...that always makes it so fun.

I had such a blast at this wedding, and taking photos made it even more fun. I am excited to see the "real" photos from the photographer. I am sure they will be amazing. Thirty-Two Weeks

Forgive the silly mirror selfy that I took at Sarah's wedding last week! I just had to take a photo of myself with my hair curled. :)

I am well into my third trimester and feeling so excited and ready to have this baby! She is an active little gal. She squirms and kicks and moves CONSTANTLY. I think I will have a little future runner! My doctor says she is still not head-down yet, but rather lying sideways in my belly. Since I'm only 32 weeks, apparently there is still time for her to move into a proper position. I'm crossing my fingers!

Some good news is that my weight gain has slowed down...woo hoo! Some bad news is that I can no longer paint my own toenails. Good thing I have good friends (like Renae) to do it for me. More good news is that my belly skin looks beautiful and has no stretch marks (I love it!), but bad news is that I have several on my sides and hips. Yuck!

I am still getting ready. I have a crib on the way, so once it's here I will be working hard to set up and decorate her little space. I have grand plans for some thrifting adventures in the coming weeks to try to find some cute art for her wall, as well as a nice rug for the floor. WIsh me luck!

Photo Friday : Keeping Cool

Happy Friday! This week has been nice and hot here in Seattle! My hubby was nice enough to buy me a popsicle from the mini mart down the street. I love these strawberry shortcake popsicles because they remind me of childhood and running after the ice cream truck. I must mention that this photo was very difficult to take with my self timer...took many tries and the ice cream ended up melting all over. :) But it was still yummy!

Renae's Photo - It has been pretty hot over here on the 'wetside' this week, too hot to want to be inside in the evenings anyways. I decided to capture a shot of us eating dinner and drinking beer on a little makeshift table outside. Fish tacos are the perfect summer meal at our house!
