This last weekend, I had the opportunity to go to Whidbey Island and be a camp cook! My friend Aileen and her husband were there, plus my friend Jenna and some other girls I met last fall. It was definitely a fun laughter filled weekend - we're a bit of a crazy bunch... especially when mildly sleep deprived.
The highlight was the break on Saturday. We drove around the island, and stopped for a short hike down to the beach. We hunted for treasures along the shore, and then hunted for more treasures at two thrift stores and an antique mall that we stopped at on the way back. Of course I found a metal cat trivet to confirm my status as the crazy cat lady.
The other highlight, as always, was the ferry ride. I always love ferry rides, I've decided they must be the most relaxing form of transportation. The view is always fun, even on the overcast days. I love to stand outside and the feel the wind on my face and watch everything go by.
