Sunday afternoons are my favorite. Matt is home. Lucy naps. The cats nap. (I don't nap.) I get some baby laundry done. Lucy plays with Chan while she gets her diaper changed. She rolls over from back to tummy and watches the cats. I finish Project Life. Matt goes to Trader Joe's (or we all go.)
I took some photos this weekend because it's been awhile since I used my SLR to take photos around our home. My home isn't perfectly clean. I have baby stuff everywhere, which I vowed once never to do, but guess what? It's super convenient. Lucy loves to play in her exersaucer and her floor gym, both which are unsightly. I have a blue plastic baby bathtub permanently glued to the wall in my bathroom, and it doesn't bother me. I find the rubber ducky on the floor pretty endearing.
This doesn't mean that I want the house to be a wreck. I actually spend a little quality time each day trying to keep the mess to a minimum. But I have to relax and expect my house not to look like it used to before kids. Let's be real! My house is small, and very, very lived in. This reminds me of a blog I found recently and a podcast I've been listening to. This cute gal, Sarah, calls herself a recovering perfectionist, and this really resonated with me! I especially enjoyed this post about how becoming a mother of two was the best thing that ever happened to her. It has helped me not be so terrified by having a second kid!
I know this post is really random, but I speak from the heart. Sometimes it's hard to work full time, raise a kid, be creative and generate amazing blog content. I'm doing my best!
