Today I have a few Project Life pages to share. These are from a few weeks ago, and cover the end of May and beginning of June. I'm still plugging away at this project and staying pretty up to date. I'm actually caught up through last week, but have not had a chance to photograph my most recent pages.
As usual, I'm keeping things really simple. I usually use the "Design A" page protectors as my base, but cut up page protectors of different sizes to add extra photos of special events. For example I had a lot of vertical photos from our camping trip, as you can see above. I used a "Design B" page protector, and cut off the side and bottom to fit my needs.
Another way to make it simple is to keep embellishments and techniques to a miminum. I love using simple word and phrase stickers to highlight a special photo. I also love using wood veneer embellishments that you will see throughout these pages. They are relatively flat, but add a fun bit of texture. I often use a small 3x4 card to share a tiny story and photo, such as above with the woodpecker. This little guy was always working away outside our campsite, so I did not want to leave him out of my book.
The page protector you see above is "Design J." It is perfect for adding instagram photos and a 3x4 card right by the side. Those cards can add a pop of color to the spread, but also provide a place to do some writing. I love adding little tabs to the sides of the page protector when they are shorter than the 12x12 pages around them.
This next week is a very typical page in my Project Life album. There are lots of photos of everyday life, a mix from my phone and my camera.
When so many photos come from my phone, I usually print a few as squares and add my journaling right on the side, using a bit of washi tape to add a little decoration. I also make little collages of two 3x4 photos, since mostly I shoot vertically with my phone. It is always my intention to shoot horizontally, but it hardly ever happens.
I've written about this before, but thought I would mention again, that I LOVE using these number stickers to write my journaling. I got them in a Project Life kit a few years ago, and I still have not used them up. I love the color they add to the page, as well as how convenient it is to write journaling as a list. This is all I have to share today! Hopefully this gives you a few ideas on keeping your albums super simple. Feel free to browse our Project Life category, because you might pick up some tips that I did not share today. Keep taking photos and have fun!
