Hey guys! We just got back from a lovely trip to Europe, it was such an awesome time! (and I can't wait to share more pictures and details later!)
But it is also so nice to be home. To see Mr. Malcolm, sleep in our own bed, shower in our own shower, eat at home. First thing we made was (well Joe made) was a batch of green smoothies. He's been making them for a while now, and I was a little surprised that I actually missed them while we were gone. I'm not exactly sure what he puts in it... I know it involves a bunch of kale, spinach, other fruits and veggies. My favorite is when he throws an avocado in!
It's such a nice easy way to get a bunch of fruits & veggies in. Plus we need to seriously detox a little & clean up our eating after our trip. While I'm singing the praises of green smoothies, I might as well mention that I love how portable they are. After blending them up, we pour them into mason jars and cap them with plastic storage caps. Which makes them super easy to take to work or drink them on the go.
On another note, I love how early we get up with the jet lag coming back home. Joe and I were up at four in the morning (granted we went to bed a four in the afternoon after getting home). By eight o'clock, we'd already gone out for breakfast together, went grocery shopping since the fridge was totally bare, made a pot of rice, made a batch of green smoothies, cleaned the kitchen, done a load of laundry, vacuumed the living room, watered the plants, played with the cat and taken out the trash. So cheers to early mornings from jet lag! If only I was a morning person on a normal day...
Now I've got a blank slate for the rest of the day. I'm going to make a roast for dinner, finish unpacking, and hopefully start going through our pictures of our trip! Gee, I'm feeling domestic today. Maybe I should make a cake while I'm at it...
Happy Monday!
